Advantest Introduces Millimeter Wave Package Antenna (AiP) Rapid Test Instrumentation V93000
Testing 5G-NR millimeter wave devices up to 70 GHz in a cost-effective manner
Platform architecture provides high parallelism and multipoint testing for multi-band frequencies
Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857), a leading supplier of semiconductor test equipment, has expanded its V93000 system to cost-effectively test a new generation of 5G-NR RF devices and modules through a single, scalable platform. The new V93000 Wave Scale Millimeter Solution features the high-multipoint parallel architecture and flexible use required for multi-band millimeter-wave frequencies. Operating from 24 GHz to 44 GHz and from 57 GHz to 70 GHz, customers are able to accelerate time-to-market with new design products Running at millimeter-wave frequencies.
This highly integrated system provides up to 64 bi-directional millimeter-wave ports based on a modular installation and is therefore significantly different in structure from other solutions. This not only enables the use of different 5G and WiGig frequency modules but also adds new modules as new bands are introduced worldwide. This highly flexible and cost-effective ATE solution is based on an innovative millimeter-wave card cage with up to eight millimeter-wave instruments to meet the standards of high-end inspection instruments. The multi-frequency test capability of this scalable system provides full speed for ultra-wideband (UWB), 5G-NR millimeter waves up to 1 GHz, WiGig (802.11ad / ay) and packaged antenna (AiP) devices up to 2 GHz Modulation and demodulation functions, as well As beamforming and over-the-air test functions.
“By providing the industry’s first integrated multi-point millimeter-wave ATE test solution, we offer our customers a way to reduce the cost of current and future 5G-NR device testing while also taking advantage of what we have invested in and we are very mature. The Wave Scale RF tester, said Juergen Serrer, executive vice president of the V93000 business unit of the ATE business unit of Advantest Corporation. “OSAT can benefit in particular from this flexible and scalable millimeter-wave ATE solution.”
Early customer installations for testing 5G and WiGig multi-band device equipment have been completed. Advantest is now accepting orders for new products in the millimeter-wave solution.
